Anastasia Kuzmina Wins a Silver Medal

Biathlonist Anastasia Kuzmina brought Slovakia another medal at this edition of Winter Olympics after winning the silver medal in the 10 km pursuit event on Tuesday. The gold medalist from Saturday‘s 7.5 sprint race started the pursuit as the top favorite but missed two shots and was overcome by Magdalena Neuner of Germany. „I was very tired. I saw Neuner in front of me skiing for the gold and I knew that I had the silver in my pocket and all I had to do was to cross the finish line. I am very happy that I won another medal for Slovakia. Before the Olympics we hoped for one medal. Now I have two so it’s more than I expected, „ said the 25 year-old Russian born athlete who became a Slovak citizen only two years ago.
