Prime Minister Rules Out Radical Reforms

RSI

The government program statement does not count on any radical reforms in the next four years, the Prime Minister Iveta Radicova said after the Cabinet unanimously approved the document on Wednesday. “The government refuses to shift the entire weight of solutions on the shoulders of the citizens. Problems will be solved gradually and not by shock therapy,” she said. The government program statement realistically reacts to the economic situation of the state and social conditions of citizens and divides the responsibility among all subjects. The program is also in accordance with the pre-election agenda of center-right coalition parties and the manner and proposals presented in the election campaign. Radicova believes that the Cabinet can achieve an improvement of the current situation via a fulfillment of their program statement. Four parliamentary deputies from the civil association “Ordinary People” elected to parliament by preferential votes from the bottom of the Freedom and Solidarity slate will support the program statement of the new center-right government for its four-year term, Igor Matovic of the association ‘Obycany Ludia’ or Ordinary People informed at a briefing in parliament on Wednesday. They will support the governments program despite the fact they have lost trust in the new center-right coalition, Matovic stated.
