The Media are Incorrect, says Prime Minister
The government has decided to elect a new candidate for Prosecutor General, adding to the long-running drama in the search for a candidate. Prime Minister Robert Fico announced this and added that Jozef Čentéš is no longer a candidate for the post and that there never existed an obstacle to electing a new candidate.

Unemployment in Slovakia Fell in April
Bucking a European trend, the numbers of unemployed citizens in Slovakia fell in April compared to March by 0.27 percentage points to a total of 14.41 percent according to the minister of Labour, Social Affairs, and Family Jan Richter.

Telecommunication operator Slovak Telekom clinched a deal with the RCS & RDS consortium to buy a 100-percent share in the company DIGI Slovakia. "We chose DIGI Slovakia because of its established customer base and availability of services," explained Slovak Telekom general director and Board of Directors chair Miroslav Majoros.

Economy Minister: If I Were a Businessman, I Wouldn't be Happy with Myself
Economy Minister Tomáš Malatinský is not content with his performance as economy minister.
He admitted that on TV Markiza's politics show 'Na telo' on Sunday. “I'm not completely happy with the course of events and issues that I've resolved to do, either. Politics and work in government simply takes more time. We must respect the programme of the party [Smer-SD], which has its priorities," said Malatinský.

Interior Ministry Plans to Track Slovak Citizens’ Movement Abroad
Slovak citizens who will travel abroad for more than 90 days after January 1, 2014 will be obliged to notify the relevant registry office in the place of their permanent residence, otherwise he/she will commit a misdemeanour and may be fined. This is according to an amendment to the law on reporting the residence of Slovak citizens which was approved on Thursday.
